Who We Are
Volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children within the juvenile court. Volunteers receive 35 hours of pre service training. A CASA volunteer gives an abused and neglected child a voice, in the courtroom and in the community
Goochland CASA is a member of National CASA. The National CASA Association was founded in 1982 and provides technical assistance and national leadership to local programs across the country. CASA volunteers investigate the circumstances of the case; submit to the court a written report of the investigation; monitor the case to ensure compliance with court orders; assist the guardian ad litem if one has been appointed; and reports allegations of abuse or neglect to the Department of Social Services.
