Primary Health Care

Highland Medical Center offers primary health care for the family.   Services include sick visits for adults and children, full physical exams, management of and consultation for ongoing health issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, and others.  Provides comprehensive diagnostic and preventive health care. Services offered also include osteoporosis treatment, allergy and asthma care,  treatment of acute and chronic illness; physical exams; Pap tests and GYN exams; x-ray; lab and EKG's; cancer screening; minor surgical and podiatry procedures; we also offer Physical Therapy and Dental services.

We offer counseling through the Valley Community Services Board. For hospitalization, patients are referred to Bath County Community Hospital, Augusta Medical Center and Rockingham Memorial Hospital, with arrangements available to refer to UVA Medical Center.



This is organization is designated as FQHC. and it operates like a Community Health Center which is a non-profit private corporation located in a medically underserved area to provide comprehensive primary health care to anyone seeking care. In addition to treating individual patients, health promotion and disease prevention for entire communities are emphasized. Services are offered on a sliding-fee scale for those that qualify. Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurances accepted.
