Who We Are
The Salvation Army provides a Transitional Housing Program designed for families and individuals who need a helping hand to regain their independence through learning the life skills they lack to be successful. Mentors are assigned to each client in the program which has just grown to include the HELP Program with additional apartments for homeless men.
Rosemary Hertzler and Vicki Davis administer the case load in our Transitional Housing Program designed for families and individuals who need a helping hand to regain their independence through learning the life skills they lack to be successful.
Salvation Army assists with transitional housing for families or single women seeking to break the cycle of dependency. Supportive services, counseling and referrals offered as part of the service plan. This is a 2-year residential program.
Mentors are assigned to each client in the program which has just grown to include the HELP Program with additional apartments for homeless men. In partnership with the city, counties, The Historic Triangle Abuse Coalition and Spirit Works we administer this program under the umbrella of the Transitional Housing Program. Criteria for the programs include: being homeless (or on the verge), working & saving one third of their income for the nest egg they will need when they complete the program, weekly budget review meetings, classes in life skills and random drug and alcohol testing. We are always seeking volunteers to share life experience skills and also to mentor clients
