Who We Are
Hospice of the Shenandoah is a licensed Medicare and Medicaid certified facility for the care and support of the terminally ill and their families. Services available include but are not limited to: in-home nursing care; aide care; social work services; hospice trained volunteers; bereavement counseling; and chaplain availability.
Criteria for services include: patient/family is aware of diagnosis and prognosis; the patient has a limited life expectancy of six months or less if the disease runs its normal course; the care has become palliative rather than curative; the patient's physician is willing to give written consent to hospice care. A nurse will make a home visit to admit the patient after the physician has approved a referral for hospice services.
