Urgent Care

Riverside Tappahannock Hospital offers Urgent Care, an alternative when your family doctor is not available and your condition is not life threatening. 



Your insurance may require you to call your primary care physician after hours or the next day to obtain an authorization for your use of the Urgent Care Center.

Reasons to visit an urgent care center may include:

• Coughs/colds
• Dehydration
• Ear infections
• Flu
• Insect bites
• Lacerations
• Minor infections
• Minor injuries
• Skin rashes, sunburns, or minor burns
• Sore throats
• Sprains
• Strains
• Urinary tract infection
• Wheezing

Appointments are not required at an urgent care center. You do not have to be a Riverside Medical Group patient to be seen by an urgent care physician. If you do not have a primary care physician, after appropriate treatment, the urgent care team will assist you in securing one.
