Who We Are

The mission is to provide information to improve the quality of life for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing and/or deaf/blind, as well as to educate the public about the needs of those individuals in the community.  The Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH) is a contact to provide outreach services.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Center (DHHSC) has many types of equipment for the deaf and hard of hearing. We offer amplified telephones, personal amplification devices, alarm clocks with bed shakers, very loud doorbells, and more.  Outreach Providers working with VDDHH can provide you with additional information.

For Virginians with hearing loss and limited income (currently 250% of the Federal Poverty Level) our equipment is free.

For Virginia Veterans with documented hearing loss, our equipment is free regardless of income.
