Veterans Housing Initiative

Since 1986, Rebuilding Together Alexandria (RTA) has partnered with volunteers and communities to provide free home repairs to low-income elderly and disabled residents so that they may continue to live with warmth, security, and self-sufficiency.



Veterans Housing Initiative offers Heroes At Home designed to help veterans and their families with safe and independent living.  These projects focus on safety modifications, interior stairway lifts, wheelchair ramps, smoke detectors, grab bars and handrails, emergency repairs and energy efficient upgrades, including weatherization, insulation and new Energy Star appliances.



Rebuilding Together Alexandria is an affiliate of a national volunteer-based program (Rebuilding Together, originally known as Christmas in April).
