Who We Are

Henrico Area Mental Health and Developmental Services (HAMHDS) offers a comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse evaluation to determine which services may be of most benefit to the teenager and family members. Licensed clinical staff conduct in-depth interviews with adolescents and family members to assess for areas of strength, resiliency and difficulty. Standardized screening/assessment instruments may also be used to determine service needs. Urine drug screening or Breathalyzer testing measures response to treatment for youth involved with substance use. Upon completion of the initial evaluation the teenager may be referred to one or more of the following services:

  • Individual and Family Therapy,
  • Case Management Services,
  • Outpatient Substance Use Program,
  • Outreach Program.
