Who We Are

Powhatan County Ride Assist Services offers older adult transportation for non-emergency medical appointments and for errands such as grocery shopping, trips to banks or the library or social events. Free medical transportation may be provided for eligible older adults. Through this service, older adults can continue to thrive in the community.  Ride Assist Services provides volunteer transportation to Powhatan County, Virginia older adults aged 60 and older who are unable to drive themselves.

Ride Assist Services is a community agency that advocates for ambulatory, independent-living older adults in Powhatan County. Transportation may also be requested for community rides such as grocery shopping, or visits to the bank or pharmacy. 

Volunteer drivers are always needed.

Intake Process
Intake Process: Call the office to register as a rider in the program. After you have registered, you can schedule a ride. Please give as much notice as possible.
