Lafayette House is a 100-unit apartment complex for the elderly, consisting of one- and two-bedroom apartments. Centrally located in historic downtown Petersburg, it is easily accessible to retail stores, drug stores, doctor's offices, the Southside Regional Emergency Center, various denominational churches, the public library, and Central Park.

Apartments feature an emergency pull cord system, controlled access to the building, wall-to-wall carpeting, and individually controlled heating and air conditioning. central laundry room on the first floor; community spaces such as an arts and crafts room, card, television, a game room, and an all-purpose room.

Lafayette House is a HUD Apartment. HUD residents usually pay 30% of their gross income for rent.  Residents can also agree to pay flat rent.
