Who We Are
Residential Housing provides safe, affordable, dormitory style rental housing for low-income single women, 18 years and older. Women from all walks of life are welcome. The following services are available:
- 40 rooms available
- All rooms are furnished - including linens and utilities
- On-site community kitchen with a food pantry
- Dormitory style baths and laundry facilities
In 2021, the monthly rent was $285. All residents must work or have some form of income. Access to rental assistance from other agencies is offered, as well as job training access and employment opportunities. Please call the YWCA for details or for an application. Cost subject to change.

Intake Process
If you or a single woman on a low-income that you know is interested in housing at YWCA Central Virginia, please contact our Office and Housing Manager, at (434) 847-7751 and select option 4. If you are experiencing homelessness or will lose housing in the next three days, please call Coordinated Homeless Intake and Access (CHIA) via 434-427-CHIA (434-427-2442).
