Health Education

The Dickenson County Health Department staffs a health educator to help with community health education, promotion, screenings, worksite programs, health counseling, coalition building for health, and grants. Upon agreement with local schools and colleges, the local health department assists students in gaining clinical experience needed to fulfill their course requirements.  

The health department also offers many services that support infants and children such as wellness clinics, dental care (fluoride), a car seat program, Baby Care, and Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS).
