The Winchester Medical Center's Emergency and Trauma Department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with physicians and nurses trained in emergency medical care. Receiving the distinction of a Level II Trauma Center, WMC has dedicated trauma surgeons on call 24/7, a surgical team and suite dedicated solely to trauma, and a new helicopter service available locally to expedite transport.



Minor Emergency Care (MEC) is offered to patients with less complicated or acute emergencies. MEC is staffed by emergency department physicians, registered nurses, and administrative associates. Minor Emergency Care is available seven days a week from 11:00AM - 11:00PM. Call 540-536-6040.
