Who We Are
Smyth County Home Health Care provides home care services under a physician's supervision. Patients continue to receive quality medical treatment from skilled nurses, therapists, and home health aides. Services include, but are not limited to, assessment of patient, peripheral intravenous site rotation; central venous catheter care; blood draw. Physical therapy services include, but are not limited to, gait training, instructing patient and caregiver in the use of durable medical equipment; prosthetic and orthotic devices; directing and aiding patients in exercises, various activities, and application of various devices simulators and traction. Speech therapy is also available.
HOPE (Homecare Options for Palliative Enhancement) is a specialty program designed to serve patients needing symptom control and supportive care of an end-stage illness in the home setting. Palliative services include, but are not limited to, case management, diagnostic testing, patient & family education, administration/management of medication, including pain medication, alternative therapies, psychological support, pastoral care, and quality of life improvements.
