Environmental Health

Environmental Health Services protect the health and safety of Crater Health District residents through safe food and water, proper sewage disposal, correction of environmental hazards, and investigation of animal bites/rabies exposures.

The Greensville/Emporia County Health Department performs soil evaluations for on-site sewage disposal systems and on-site evaluations for private drinking water wells. Staff provides periodic inspections of restaurants and grocery stores, and offers training opportunities for food service workers to increase knowledge and skills in food sanitation. They conduct rabies control activities including investigations of all animal bites. Performs other environmental inspections and investigations as required by local ordinances.
