Family Medicine

Family Medicine offers primary care to all ages.  Services can include well woman, pediatrics, chronic illness management and more.



Family Physicians receive specialized training in the biological, clinical and psychological aspects of all ages, sexes, organ systems and disease entities.  The staff includes family physicians, family nurse practitioners, behavioral medicine specialists, geriatrics specialists, and counselors who have access to specialists and other resources as needed.

Geriatrics provides geriatric assessment, cognitive assessment, ADL and IADL assessment, functional assessment and medication assessment (both prescriptions and over-the-counter). Also offered are physical exam, evaluation of falls, and testing for depression and memory loss. Geriatrics is the area of specialty.  Hospital admitting privileges at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
