The mission of Special Olympics Virginia is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Special Olympics Virginia athletes train, compete and succeed in nearly 2,000 area and regional competitions in 22 sports each year. Seven annual state-level competitions are also hosted:
- Bowling Championships featuring FanQuest
- The Xperience
- Speed Skating Championships
- Basketball Championships
- Summer Games
- Golf Championships
- Fall Championships
