Assistive Technology Computer Lab

The Assistive Technology Lab is a high-tech computer lab and video conferencing lab consisting of 23 Laptop computers (All with Windows 7). There are also seven Accessible desktop computer stations (One Macintosh and six Windows XP machines). The lab also has many high-tech instructional tools including 3 Large wall-mounted Flat screen monitors, document camera and Tandberg Videoconferencing cameras.  The five accessible desktop stations are located around the perimeter of the lab on adjustable height computer tables to accommodate for faculty, staff, and students in wheelchairs.  Each station is designed to meet the needs of a particular functional disability area.



The Helen A. Kellar Institute for Human disAbilities (KIHd) is a part of the Graduate School of Education at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.   The Kellar Institute for Human DisAbilities (KIHD) is an interdisciplinary campus-based organization that focuses on the mission statement, "improving the lives and productivity of persons with disabilities."  KIHd combines the resources of George Mason University (GMU) with local, state, regional, national, public, and private sector agencies and organizations to develop products, services, and programs for persons with disabilities.
