Emergency Medical Care

MedSTAR at Washington Hospital Center is a Level I Trauma Center and provides 24-hour a day care for patients with all types of acute illness or injury. Offers Burn Center, Emergency Medicine, Surgical Critical Care and Trauma Care.

If you are experiencing a major or life-threatening issue that requires immediate testing and treatment. Examples include the following:

• Chest pain
• Difficulty breathing
• Severe abdominal pain
• Major head injury
• Heavy bleeding
• Severe dizziness or passing out (fainting or loss of consciousness)
• Stroke symptoms
• Seizures
• Other conditions with risk of loss of life or limb

MedSTAR Transport Service provides helicopter and ground transport for critical care patients within a 150-mile radius of Washington Hospital Center.
