Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems offers Telemedicine which is the use of computers, cameras, and telephone wires to connect an individual with a health care provider at a different facility. Telemedicine makes it possible to see a specialist without driving many hours or miles. Telemedicine can be utilized by anyone who is referred by their own healthcare provider or by any of their healthcare professionals. The connection is to a specialist from the University of Virginia Health Care System.



After the consultation, the specialist sends a diagnosis and treatment plan to your primary care doctor. Specialists through Telemedicine are:
