Crisis Stabilization, Roanoke

EHS Crisis Stabilization Services provides support to individuals who suffer from serious mental health conditions who are experiencing heightened symptoms due to a specific life event. This acute crisis of a psychiatric nature may be severe enough to jeopardize their current community living situation or puts them at risk for psychiatric hospitalization. Services are provided in the client's home, in the community and in group settings.

The program's goals include:

• Eliminating and/or limiting hospitalization or re-hospitalization;
• Stabilizing client's symptoms to increase the ability to live independently;
• Assist with accessing needed psychiatric care and medication management;
• Decreasing/eliminating problematic behavior to increase the ability to live independently;
• Ensure a normative living environment that is safe and secure;
• Assist with accessing needed resources.
