Who We Are
The Laurels Recovery Center, a program of the Cumberland Mountain Community Services Board, operates two regional residential programs:
- The Laurels is a two phase program that includes medically supervised detox and stabilization services in Phase I and short term residential treatment and rehabilitation services in Phase II.
- The Laurels Residential Recovery is a crisis stabilization unit. The program provides an integrated and comprehensive community based continuum of residential care that includes medically supervised detox and stabilization services, counseling and educational services, crisis stabilization services, medication services, and peer recovery support services.
Both programs are licensed to accept individuals on a voluntary basis, on an involuntary basis via a Temporary Detention Order (TDO), and on voluntary and involuntary commitment orders. The facility offers multiple occupancy bedrooms that meet the Americans with DIsabilities Act accessability guidelines.
Priority admission is given to the following populations when substance abuse is involved:
- Females who may be pregnant and are intravenous users,
- Pregnant and or parenting females who are not intravenous users,
- Intravenous users,
- Individuals with co-occurring problems,
- Other individuals experiencing substance use problems.
The facility also offers Recovery Support Services which are peer driven support services provided by Recovery Coaches who are in active recovery. Recovery Support Services provide an alternative for individuals who are not yet ready for treatment and are a support for individuals in treatment and for individuals who are post treatment. Recovery Coaches provide informational, emotional, affiliation, and instrumental support services for individuals with substance use or co-occurring disorders and issues.
