Who We Are
This Mental Health/Substance Abuse Services program, offered by the Goochland-Powhatan Community Services Board, provides supported living services to individuals with major mental illness or substance abuse disorder. We provide training and support in activities of daily living that enable individuals to achieve and maintain community stability and independence in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment.
The services are provided to individuals living in a supported apartment setting or in their family homes. The program offers a wide variety of services, all of which are provided in the home and community. The services address three areas of need:
- Medication management;
- Monitoring health, nutrition, physical conditions, and functional use of skills in health and safety, activities of daily living, and use of community resources;
- Training and support are offered in all of the areas listed. The program is accessed through a case management referral and is funded through Medicaid and private pay.
