Who We Are

The Crisis Stabilization Program is for adults who are in an acute crisis situation and who are at risk of hospitalization or homelessness due to their mental health or co-occurring disorder.

The Crisis Stabilization Program provides direct mental health short term care for non-hospitalized individuals who are experiencing an acute crisis of a psychiatric nature that may jeopardize their current community living situation. The program provides services based on individual needs in the least restrictive environment.

Services are provided in the eleven bed, center based Norfolk Community Services Board program, which is licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). All services are provided by a treatment team of qualified mental health professionals (QMHPs). The treatment team consists of a psychiatrist, a nurse, counselor, social worker, peer provider, and behavioral health technician.
