Who We Are
Luther Manor offers 123 rent-subsidized apartments (one or two bedroom) with some apartments designed for mobility-impaired individuals. Luther Manor is a HUD, section 202 project for the very low-income elderly and adults with needs for the accessible features of designated apartments. Eligibility requires applicant must be at least 62 years of age or require an apartment with accessible features, be able to maintain his or her own apartment and have an annual income of no more than $23,750 for one person or $27,150 for a couple. Supervision is not available.
In addition to a secure place, access to a volunteer health clinic and transportation services for shopping, medical appointments and other trips are included. Meals are not included in the rental rate; however residents are required to purchase one meal a day in the dining room at an additional monthly charge. Two meals are available but not mandatory. Residents can enjoy emergency call system, indoor laundry facilities, maintenance service, cable TV hookups, dining and activity room, a variety of planned social activities, and indoor mailboxes. Rent is based on income.
Luther Manor is part of Virginia Lutheran Homes. While close ties are maintained to the Lutheran Church, people of all faiths are welcome and there is no discrimination in any way.
