Veterans who become SCI/D after leaving active duty receive care from the VA, but benefits for many critical needs are not available to them. The chapter maintains three financial assistance programs, designed to help non-service connected members in need. The Accessible Independence Program helps fund the purchase of van lifts, hand controls, etc. This program also assists with installation of ramps, widening doorways, etc.
