Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare (BRBH) is one of forty Community Services Boards established under the Code of Virginia to provide comprehensive services for individuals who have mental health disorders, intellectual disability, or substance use disorders. We are charged also with continuously monitoring and evaluating our services to ensure their cost effectiveness and applicability to current citizen needs. BRBH operates multiple programs throughout the Roanoke Valley with over 400 employees working to provide or support our services.

Intake Process
Call the Access Center or walk in at The Burrell Center, located at 611 McDowell Avenue, Roanoke, Virginia 24016. Children and youth may walk-in for screening without an appointment between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. There are extended walk-in hours for children and youth intakes on Tuesdays until 4:30 PM. The children and youth entrance to the Access Center is on the left side of the main Burrell Center building, highlighted by a Children’s Access Center sign. The adult entrance remains through the main Burrell doors in the center of the building.
