Who We Are

Cover Virginia provides information about Virginia's FAMIS programs.  FAMIS is Virginia's health insurance program for children. It makes health care affordable for children of eligible families. FAMIS covers all the medical care growing children need to avoid getting sick, plus the medical care that will help them if they do get sick or get hurt.

Services covered by FAMIS include but are not limited to, doctor visits, hospital visits, vaccinations, mental health care, dental care, vision care, and more.Visit website for income guidelines.  Visit Am I Eligible and complete the Screening Tool and then visit How to Apply.

FAMIS and FAMIS Plus must be renewed at least every 12 months. It is very important that you report any change in your address to the agency that is managing the case. If we do not have a correct address, we will not be able to notify you when it is time to renew coverage and the child will be canceled from the program
