The Department of Social Services offers The Virginia Initiative for Employment Not Welfare (VIEW) program to assist individuals on public assistance to find permanent employment. Participants may be provided with services such as job skills training, work experience, job readiness training, child care assistance, transportation, and other work related expenses. Some of services available are:
- Participants receive job leads and help locating potential employment opportunities;
- Some participants will receive basic job skills training;
- Community Work Experience - opportunities to gain real-life work experience;
- Education/training;
- Day Care Services - for qualified individuals, daycare will be provided for you during your job hunt and employment;
- For qualified individuals, assistance with transportation to and from work.
To be eligible for the VIEW program, you must be receiving public assistance (i.e. TANF, Food Stamps). For more information, contact the office.
