Who We Are
Second Story for Teens in Crisis offers an emergency shelter for teenagers. Second Story for Teens in Crisis provides a safe haven for runaway, homeless, and abused young people age 13 to 17 years old. The shelter is a completely voluntary program. In addition to safe shelter, food, and clothing, each teen receives intensive individual, group, and family counseling and help to keep up with their education. Young people may stay up to 3 weeks at a time. Most young people return to their families after their stay at the Shelter and a safe alternative is found for those who cannot return home.
24-Hour Crisis Hotline can be the first point of contact: 1-800-729-8336 (1-800-SAY-TEEN). The hotline is answered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, by trained counselors and volunteers. A teen can also text "NEEDHELP" to 855-11. All services are provided in and around Fairfax County, Virginia.
Other programs are Second Story for Homeless Youth and Second Story for Young Mothers.
